Bathroom Ideas
You may want your bathroom to feel serene and spa-like, or perhaps bright and practical for the kid’s bath time, or you might want a bold look in your guest bathroom to impress your friends. Whatever you need we have some ideas for you.
Master bathroom
An area where 'me time' takes top priority, the master bathroom is the most personal space in your home. Create a spa-like mood with paint colours that nurture rest and relaxation. Calming hues include soft greys like Metropolitan AF-690. This is a stylish grey with cool undertones, reflecting modern sophistication. A pastel like Palladian Blue HC-144 as shown in the photo is soft and airy combining the blue of the sky with a touch of mother of pearl. Italian Ice Green 2035-70 and Gray Cloud 2126-60 are saturated colours which are part of our Colour Preview Collection that bring spaces to life and illuminate the room with pure, extraordinary colour.
A big look for a small space
A smaller, or guest bathroom is great to go bold with. Dare to experiment and it will pay off. Saturated colours pop in small places. Take Old Claret 2083-30 as seen here. It is not the first colour that comes to mind for a bathroom, but it has a stunning rich effect. Take a look at our Dramatic Deeps Brochure to see more bold colour combinations around the home.
Try painting the ceiling with an unexpected colour such as Tomato Tango CSP-1145 as seen here, or Fruit Shake 2088-60 or a pale blue such as Windmill Wings 2067-60 which can lift the ceiling.
In contrast to a shade of white or pale neutral you can also dare to go bold and modern by painting towel rails, shelving or other bathroom furnishings colours like Black Ink 2127-20 or Deep Space 2125-20.
Introducing matte paint for bathrooms
Traditionally we have all been using a gloss or semi-gloss paint finish in a bathroom. In the past these finishes helped avoid the effects of bathroom humidity. Our AURA® Bath & Spa is a MATTE finish paint especially created for high humidity places. It provides exceptional durability, colour retention, mildew and mould resistance. The matte finish delivers a sense of softness to bathrooms where hard surfaces like tile, mirrors, and metal fixtures abound.
